5 Minute Forecast

In North America, 2 major ports and 8 intermodal hubs are scoring high risk this week on account of significant weather disruptions. This is due to a combination of wintry weather in portions of the Pacific Northwest and southern Plains, and wind gusts and severe weather in portions of the central US. In the tropics, a system currently in the Caribbean will be forming into Tropical Storm and then Hurricane Rafael later this week as it moves into the Gulf of Mexico. This system is expected to weaken before it hits the Gulf Coast over the upcoming weekend or early next week. Soon to be Rafael does not look to be a major disruptive storm like Helene or Milton but could cause some minor issues in portions of the southern US.

In Europe, there are currently no nodes with a high risk of weather disruptions. While there will continue to be some rain activity in and around Valencia, Spain, no extremely heavy rainfall is expected this week for recovery operations. In East Asia, only one major supply chain hub is scoring high risk this week. The node is Da Nang, Vietnam which has a high risk of flooding impacts to business operations and transportation. Also, we are monitoring newly developed tropical cyclone Yinxing which is tracking toward the far northern Phillipines.
