5 Minute Forecast

In North America, the weather-related disruptions this week are associated with Hurricane Debby which made landfall this morning in the Big Bend area of Florida. Debby was a Category 1 storm with max winds of 80 mph (130 kmph) at landfall in Florida. Debby is the 2nd hurricane this season to make landfall in the US; Beryl was the first. In the SE, 3 major ports and 8 intermodal hubs are scoring high risk due to the heavy rains and winds from Debby. The remnants of Debby will move very slowly if not stall over the SE this week and the long duration rain event will cause a major inland flood situation in portions of the Southeast. In fact, the biggest risk and disruptor in the supply chain is the flooding in portions of northern Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.

It is a quiet weather week globally! The only location that could feature some supply chain disruptions is in southern Uruguay as a result of gusty winds on Thursday. Winds could gust to 90 km/h which could briefly disrupt port operations in Uruguay. Elsewhere, we do not expect any disruptive weather globally. Some additional protect from heat measures may be needed in southern Europe this week as temperatures will be above normal throughout the Mediterranean.
